Laser update

Hey all. Just checking in and giving an update on my new laser. The hull is fairing nicely. the parts i epoxied on Tuesday and sanded yesterday came out smoother than most gelcoats i have feeled. I put on West Systems epoxy w/ 410 fairing filler on a bunch of small cracks and scratches today and let it sit. i also glasses around the bottom of the daggerboard slot, the front edge of the bailer slot and on the back edge of the stern. All of those spots are places that get work down quickly so they are all reinforced now. I am going to try to sane most if not all of it down tomorrow and see how it feels and looks. if it came out right, the hull should feel brand new or almost so after i fill a few more small scratches. So it should turn out good. That's it for this update.

New Laser

Okay the title is a little decieving. I got a laser from a friend who left it here at the harbor and it was passed onto me. I curently own a 36 year old laser. hull #47 I believe and the one i just acquired isn't much newer or maybe a little older. it is in better shape to start with than my other one was (the one in my blog page picture) originally. I just spent all day working on it trying to get the hull ready for fairing and other such repairs to get it fully race ready. it came with just the stripped hull with one gudgeon, the rudder stop, and a plug mount without the plug. It is coming out nice reguardless. I am hoping to have the hull ready to go by next week so i will keep you posted with updates. Until next time.

Happy Saint Patricks Day!

Happy Saint Patricks Day from a real Irishman. Well okay i am 75% Irish, but that still counts. I had the BEST homemade corned beef abd cabbage dinner. Every year there are pletny of leftovers and my dad cooked 13lbs this year so we shoul be good for plenty of sandwiches for weeks to come. Heop you all had a great Saint Patricks Day!

Racing in Dana Point

Hi, everyone. I had a race in Dana point over the weekend and it was awesome. the conditions were hard at first with zero wind and short period swells. the wind picked up right after the first race was abandoned and we managed to squeeze three more in. it was a lot of fun and i placed third earning me my first travelling trpohy! it was definitely a fun Saturday racing in Dana Point!
